Chuck left his toilet cubical, he looked at himself in the mirror as he washed his hands. He too had a nervous feeling, he was feeling more nervous than he should and didn’t know why. He left the bathroom and took the exit. He hardly noticed the bird next to the exit door outside the bathroom.
Chuck walked past the Bird with the fluffy feathers. Then the fluffy bird so quickly swung a baseball bat at him with great force. It was hard with so much power and it stung and he screamed with pain. All that hyped up energy was unleashed and it hit Chuck right in his ribs. Christian then went for another swing and this time Chuck put his arm in the way and it broke his arm. Christian then hit his knees with the bat. Chuck was in a lot of pain now and he took a swing at Christian, but he ducked and then Christian smashed the bat into his back.
It all happened so fast, Christian had been like a machine. He knew he was up against a cop and didn’t want to take any chances and he was also unable to fight under normal circumstances. Chuck was severely injured by the blows. Christian decided to hit him one last time, the knockout blow and he hit him hard with his left fist, a hook, the final blow to the head.
Chuck laid there unconscious, no one had seen it. Christian was lucky that no one came by in the few seconds that he needed to beat up Chuck. Christian quickly left and walked down the corridor, as he walked back to enter the main hall he walked past another bird in the identical suit. They stared at one another as they walked past. It had an eerie feeling for both of them.
Christian left the party and ran into the college grounds, still in his Bird suit. As he ran through the campus he saw Natasha. She was sitting on the ground drinking with a male friend. Christian had taken his head off as he ran and Natasha recognized him. The running bird she thought to herself. She found it quite amusing, this bird running along on this highly lit night from the full moon. She had been drinking and was already a little bit drunk.
“Christian!” she yelled, “put the head back on. Do it! I prefer you with the beak and the birds head. Do it for me! Do it you mother fucker!”
Christian smiled and kept running, he knew she was crazy when she was sober so wasn’t too surprised to see her shouting stuff when she had been drinking.
Christian eventually found a bus and headed towards his home.
In the heaven hell party, life resumed and the party went on without Christian. Kali and Ethan were still dancing and chatting away on the dance floor. Carl was having a good old time unable to put a foot wrong with his new acquaintances.
A friend of Kali’s came up to her, her name was Nancy, she also worked at the college. She was with Kali earlier in the evening and had been looking for her. She said hi and Kali introduced her to Ethan. She said she was on her way to the bar and asked if Kali needed a drink. Ethan decided to go to the bathroom and arranged to meet up with Kali at the bar later.
Ethan walked to the bathroom, as he came into the corridor that was off the main party hall he noticed the group of people hanging around with a guy on the ground. There were two police officers and an ambulance man and there was Chuck not looking so good. He knew immediately what would have happened. He walked into the bathroom and tried to not think about it too much.
He walked back out and made a quick exit. He didn’t really want to go there or delve into it and wanted to remain detached. He walked back into the party and went to the bar to find Kali.

Chuck was conscious now as the two police officers spoke to him. Chuck had given them the unusual description of a bird. At first the police thought he might be delirious when he described the big, fury, aggressive, live bird, but after seeing all sort of freaks come and go, they knew it was possible and headed out into the party area to see if they could locate the big bird that was described.
Sure enough bobbing up and down on the dance floor was a bird dancing, he had feathers, the color described and a similar height that they were looking for. This could be the one they thought.
Because of the injuries to Chuck they didn’t want to take any chances and they were very heavy handed. They grabbed him suddenly, from behind and took him away. The bird put up a small struggle which only made it worst. They pulled the bird into the corridor where Chuck was and Chuck yelled out, “that’s the bastard take his head off!”
Lance, the main police officer led the bird towards Chuck.
“He’s a feisty little thing, he’s an angry bird!” Lance said.
They took the birds head off and saw the startled Lenard, the super bright nerd that sat next to Ethan during one of his classes. The police were very fast and wanted Lenard off the premises very quickly. Lenard looked startled as the police hand cuffed him and took him away.
“I haven’t done anything! I’m innocent!” Lenard screamed.
“That’s what they all say,” Lance said, “com’on jail bird, let’s find you a cage!”
They walked him out to their police car and took Lenard back to the police station. Chuck was left with the ambulance man and was taken away for treatment.

Ethan headed to the bar. He looked around for the vampire, the one he knew he had to be with, but where was she? He saw her friend Nancy by the bar chatting to someone, he moved towards her at the same time finding eye contact with the barman. He ordered his drink and then turned to Nancy and asked her where her friend was. She was surprised to see Ethan because she was facing away from him and suddenly there he was. Kali had spoken about Ethan to her and she could understand Kali’s undertone with her language that Ethan was special. They chatted briefly and Nancy wanted to keep talking to him but she also knew he was looking for Kali. She mentioned where Kali was, upstairs on the balcony getting some fresh air. Perfect, I will be there and away he went. He said bye to Nancy who gave him an intense look but soft also. Everything was becoming more heightened for Ethan, just the looks he was getting, he knew he was buzzing and it was sending off some electricity that everyone could feel.
Ethan took the stairs and was climbing now, up the stairs and onto the balcony. He felt as if he was climbing the stairs of heaven, they circled up, he was all alone. Shouldn’t there be people wandering around? But it seemed almost empty, just a couple at the bottom chatting away sitting on the stairs.
Ethan came to the top of the stairs, waiting for him were the doors to the balcony. He opened them up and felt the breeze, he noticed the light of the moon, it seemed to enhance his energy. The balcony was fairly large and standing there, facing over to the open air was Kali. He walked towards her. Kali was leaning over the balcony wall. Even facing her from behind gave her some unknown mystery. Ethan had never walked up from behind her like this and he felt the newness. He felt excited but nervous too, she did that, she played with his powers. He chuckled to himself about the intensity of it all. It seemed to relax him and as he took another step forward, Kali turned around. As she moved around her hair followed and the shine of the moon made her look raw and untouched. She couldn’t hear Ethan coming. She just knew he would be there.
“Hey,” she said, with such a glow that Ethan immediately felt at one with everything. It just pulled him into the moment, into the soul only, no margins for anything else.
“I knew you would sense me,” he said.
“How did you know?”
“Just in the way you know things before they happen.”
There was a shift in the air. Kali and Ethan had come to a place where they both knew that their time together had evolved to the next step. There were no choices here in the deeper sense, they were just gliding in like two pure energies coming together as one.
“A blue moon, an angel, a vampire, there’s a part of me that really doesn’t want to hurt you,” she said.
She entered into that realm briefly when mentioning the words of pain. They just came up and she had to be at one with the frequency of it all. To have it all, she had to enter everything and be the highest that she could be, the highest that they could both ever be.

bsp; “I know,” he said, “the taste of a possible pain, the love, a vampire, an angel, a blue moon, it’s a potent mix. It’s like I know the end before it starts.”
“It feels as if I’m in another world with you sometimes.”
“A wonder world.”
“Yeah.”
“It’s like you’ve enhanced my powers…really. But I was a smidgen shy when we first met, just a little… only you could do that.”
“Really…”
“Just you, Kali just one. It’s like your DNA is different, a match of mine. Your beauty drives me insane and sane. I can’t touch your essence, your beauty in the human sense…it spell bounds from another world.”
“When I said there was a part of me that doesn’t want to hurt to you, I meant not even in the most smallest of ways. I meant that as with where I was before I met you… and now it is a new world, a free one with no pain.” She broke out into a big smile when she said it and Ethan felt so safe. “Your beauty, your love would cause me all the pain in the world if to vanish, and so I meant I will never do that to you...ever.”
She looked so beautiful when she said it, her eyes glowed, they watered, they faced each other, both their eyes were now overflowing, they were coming together.
They moved closer. Ethan was six inches away from her face. When they looked into each other’s eyes they could see the lives of before. The blue moon shined potently from above, their eyes were so clear from the tears, it had cleansed them and it was like they had to have one last look at each other to see this precious moment before it flowed to another. They had to stare at one another to see the beauty reflected back. They were like two immortals, they had gone into another level, a new sphere and the energy moved them closer. They could hear each other’s breath and Ethan put his lips an inch before her mouth, their heads angled in, their eyes lids closed, then opened again, they could see each other so closely, her lips were just a fraction away now and they remained there just breathing. Breathing each other’s life, the tears flowed down each other’s cheeks, they could see each other’s eyes, their souls, and then Ethan placed his lips on Kali’s. They kissed so gently, so softly. It was like the kiss had a physical path and every touch unraveled each other’s soul. They kissed like this for more than a minute before it evolved and Kali opened her mouth and gave Ethan everything in that kiss. It became induced with passion and when it did, it felt electrical and then the current exploded and they pulled apart and laughed so loudly. It was the deep, Buddha, belly laugh. They laughed with joy, staring at one another. A tear flowed from Kali. Ethan grabbed her, twirled her around and they laughed out into the universe.
“Did you notice the door open when we kissed and the music came in,” Ethan said.
“I did. How cool!”
They stayed on the balcony for a while holding each other, so together now, they were one and they just laughed and talked under the starry night and the blue moon.

Across town Lenard was not having such a great time. He was at the police station and was placed into a cell. The policeman who had brought him back was Lance. He was an eccentric cop. He had dyed blond hair with a dark brown moustache, he wouldn’t admit to it but he had dyed his hair blond to look like the character from his favorite TV show, Topper Copper. A program about a rebellious, quirky, honest cop.
One of the annoying factors for the other police officers with Lance was his desire to watch the telly at the police station. When Topper Copper was on, Wednesday 7.30 for an hour, nothing could get him away from the TV and then he would talk about the show for the next two hours. If there was an emergency at that time, Lance would do his best to make excuses. He had recently got a call out for a drive by shooting in a good area of San Francisco. It was in the afternoon and they just happened to have a replay special of Topper Copper at the time and he took forever to leave. He eventually did get going and when asked about his late departure by his boss he said he was just multi tasking and he knew everything would be fine, and it always was with Lance. Everything seemed to work out for him. His boss described him as an instinctive cop with a good hunch. He would say some silly things but he always got results.
Lance was in the station talking to his work friend, Tom who had accompanied him out to the scene with Lenard. They had been talking about Lenard and what he had said in the car on the way over. Lenard had completely denied any wrong doing and when Lance and Tom discussed the case they realized it was impossible for Lenard to have done it. If Lenard had the ability to beat up an officer, then the San Francisco police were in for a bit of trouble. Lance had also highlighted that Tom’s forearms were twice the size of Lenard’s thighs. They reassured each other that they were great cops, it was just the costume, it made Lenard look very muscley and the truth was that was why Lenard had chosen it. When they had got back to the police station with Lenard and they removed his bird’s suite they were almost stunned to see how slim he was. Right then they knew they had the wrong man, but quietly put him in the cell anyway.
“We have to let him go. I feel a bit mean keeping him here,” Lance said.
“Yep.”
“He did fit the description, being a bird and all. He reminds me of a chicken bone actually.”
“Which bone?”
“The wish bone, not the leg. Of course he is the thin bone of the wish bone.”
Tom was aware Lance could rant on about things and he had that look in his eyes that he wanted to say more so Tom obliged and asked him.
“And what bone would you be Lance.”
“Breastbone!” Lance said, “solid, dependable, lots of different bones coming into it, tough, tasty, but not too tough.”
He seemed serious and Tom thought it was time for him to go somewhere else and he got up and mentioned to Lance to let Lenard go.
Lance walked over to the cell where Lenard was. He lit up a cigarette on the way over and opened the door. Lenard looked like a startled chicken.
“I believe…you’re free to go, so the rumor goes,” Lance said.
“Really? Great.”
“You fit the description, but my hunch says you’re innocent.”
“Thank you for finding your common sense, I appreciate that.”
“I will say this though,” Lance said taking a drag on his smoke, “before I was a cop I had a fascination with wild bird life, especially exotics….I don’t care for your costume.” He blew smoke directly into Lenard’s face in a interrogating manner.
“It’s just a bird,” Lenard said trying not to cough from all the smoke.
“That's not just any bird.”
“It’s a Kiwi, no big deal.”
“I know my birds and that's no Kiwi.”
“I’m sorry to say but it is. I’m dressed as a Kiwi.”
“It’s a Moa bird.”
“No it isn’t, I’m a Kiwi. The Moa was around 12 feet tall.”
“The Kiwi is very little. 1.5 feet tall I believe,” Lance said matter-of-factly.
They stared at one another. Lenard just wanted to get out of here, get out of his prison cell and was getting to the stage where he would say anything to get himself out.
“If you love birds,” Lenard said, “then why is my costume a problem?”
“The Moa is nearly extinct that’s all. It’s like you are trying to take the piss.”
Lenard knew the Moa had been extinct for over a hundred years but felt he better not tell Lance that. He may never get out if he did, so he made up a lie.
“Well with all sincerity I do hope you get the opportunity to go to New Zealand one day and visit the Moa. I believe they are thriving in some areas in the deep bush,” Lenard said it hoping he would take his bluff.
“You’re a top man. You can go! I knew from the moment I saw you that you’re innocent!” And with that he led Lenard out. “Please don’t sue us,” Lance said with a smile.
